THE JOB

Client Services & Program Associate

This is a part-time entry-level position, requiring weekday and weekend work on our 24-hour Client Services team. We offer 11€/hour for daytime shifts. The position is based in our Berlin office and requires significant day to day interactions with clients, travel agents, partners, docents, and our client and program management teams.

The position will be responsible for handling all first tier communications through both phone and email interactions, as well as various general office administration duties that support staff across all Context cities. The position reports to the Sales & Service Supervisor based in Philadelphia, and a local on-site program manager.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree in the liberal arts.
  • Fluency in English
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of office experience.
  • A minimum of 1-year front-line customer service experience, such as in a restaurant or shop and proven ability and confidence in customer service by phone.
  • Work experience in the cultural sector is very helpful.
  • A love of travel and talking about travel is required.
  • Familiarity with one of our major European destinations like Rome or Paris preferred.
  • High computer proficiency, including the Google for Business suite, and virtual communication applications such as Slack and Skype is required. 
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced, international, tech-reliant environment is essential.
  • A personal dedication to independent and sustainable travel.
  • A passion for learning about world culture.
  • Based in the Berlin area. Must have appropriate documentation to live and work in Germany.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Global client duties:

  • First-tier customer service: Answering time-sensitive phone calls and emails that come in through Context’s 24-hour emergency customer service number and email address, [assisting clients with bookings through Context's 800 number], and answering tour inquiries by email. Helping clients choose walking tours. Knowing how to find out answers to complicated questions. 
  • Travel agents – assisting with inquiries and bookings.
  • Order processing

Global program duties:

  • Ticket purchasing
  • Making reservations with regional vendors

General duties:

  • participate in company-wide and team-specific meetings
  • general office support when necessary during peak season
