Asia-Pacific Client Specialist

To help us get there, we’re looking for an Asia Pacific Client Specialist to join our Philadelphia office. This person will be responsible for direct client service and sales in Context's Asia / Pacific cities, with a primary focus on Japan - our largest market in the region.

THE JOB
In this role, reporting to the Director of Client Services, you will be responsible for all trip planning for clients traveling to our Asia destinations. We are a sales enabled, service-oriented team, currently growing our sales function. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Relationship Management

  • Manage all Asia-Pacific related client and partner communications in a timely manner
  • Develop positive, long-term relationships with clients
  • Act as the point of contact and provide high touch handling of clients’ individual needs
  • Resolve concerns and provide solutions to clients in a timely manner

Trip Planning

  • Work with clients and the regional program manager to design multi-day, customized tour itineraries to our Asia-Pacific cities based on clients’ interests
  • Provide value-added in-destination suggestions beyond planned tours
  • Process all bookings for Asia-Pacific cities

Sales

  • Track and achieve agreed upon regional sales targets and outcomes within schedule in line with regional and company-wide objectives
  • Generate new relationships using existing and potential client networks
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Enable front-line client service associates to speak effectively to options in your region

General Client Services

  • Contribute to the first-tier customer service for all Context cities (phone calls, emails) along with a team of client specialists and client associates

THE EXPERIENCE

  • Deep knowledge of Tokyo, Kyoto and Japanese culture is required (such as extensive living or teaching abroad).
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in the liberal arts preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Proven ability and excellence in relationship management
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in the cultural sector and sales is very helpful.
  • A passion for learning about world culture, and an obsession with travel and talking about travel is required.
  • High computer proficiency, including the Google for Business suite, CRM such as Salesforce, and virtual communication apps such as Slack and Zoom is required. We are a Mac-based team.
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced, international, tech-reliant environment is essential.

THE SCHEDULE

  • Regular evenings, occasional weekend hours, and some travel are required.
