Do you believe in transformative experiences through sustainable travel?  Do you get excited by learning new things?   We are looking for somebody to take on the new position of Operations Associate, located in our Berlin office in Prenzlauer Berg.    You will be reporting to the Program Director, located in Berlin, and work with colleagues remotely around the world. 

Context is a dynamic company in the tours and activities sector of the travel industry. We organize expert-led tours for the intellectually curious in 41 cities worldwide and operate in an increasingly competitive space. We enjoy a strong customer base and cult-like following.

Our critically acclaimed tours are led by our consortium of MA- and Ph.D.-level scholars and experts, whom we refer to as Docents. They are the face of our organization towards our clients. With a team located in Philadelphia, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Edinburgh, Seoul, and Rio de Janeiro, we currently operate in 42 cities around the world and expanding to more.



  • Have a centralized overview for all tickets, train, car, boats and other non-docent services that need to be booked by Context in order to fulfill our walks and tours all over the world
  • Document processes for ticket and other services’ fulfillment
  • Negotiate the best prices, terms and conditions for the services we contract
  • Create the conditions for an internal peace-of-mind, where all our tours will have all the non-docent fulfillment requirements clear and mistake-free

Requirements for the position

  • Degree in business (or another higher education degree, but be very business savvy) 
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (smart and street savvy)
  • Enjoys finances and numbers
  • Builds relationships naturally
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Excels at documenting and organizing
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Must have necessary work permits to work in Germany

Concrete tasks

  • Create and maintain a budget for non-docent services that are required to produce our tours
  • Negotiate contracts with all of our services’ provider (entrance fee, restaurants, car services, trains, etc.)
  • Purchase tickets for the main cities
  • Coordinate with Program and Client Services Manager and facilitate information 
  • Establish a documentation process 


Berlin, Germany.  You have the appropriate documentation to live and work in Germany.
