Context is looking for a part-time bookkeeper in its Philadelphia office to take on all regular bookkeeping duties for the company. The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience and deep familiarity with Quickbooks Online, Quickbooks Offline and Intuit Payroll. Familiarity with international payment tools is strongly desired.


The successful candidate is detailed oriented and analytical with a proven track record as a bookkeeper.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process vendor invoices and handle full-cycle Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for partners, reconcile payments, and handle full-cycle Accounts Receivable.
  • Deal directly with vendors and staff, both in US and overseas, regarding invoices and expenses.
  • Categorize and classify expenses.
  • Prepare and reconcile commission reports.
  • Balance and reconcile bank, credit card, and cash accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely close process. Review, analyze, and prepare monthly journal entries for month end close, including expense accruals, amortizations, and any others that may be required.
  • Prepare and maintain semi-monthly Intuit payroll.
  • Perform research and respond to inquiries as they arise within the company.
  • Ensure financial records comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Strong current knowledge of basic accounting functions, including journal entries, financial reporting, A/P, A/R, and payroll.
  • Ability to multitask between responsibilities; prioritize and handle multiple requests.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in Google Sheets and Docs.
  • Degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
