Weekend Client Associate

An international, urban travel company is looking for someone with a strong commitment to learning through travel and sustainable travel. Operating in 28 cities and sixteen countries, Context Travel organizes "walking seminars," small, in-depth, learning experiences led by our consortium of Ph.D.-level scholars and experts. Continually expanding to new cities and recruiting new docents, we have offices in Paris, Rome, London, Istanbul, and Philadelphia.

 

We are currently looking to add a seasonal, part-time weekend client associate to our European team.

 

WEEKEND CLIENT ASSOCIATE

 

The weekend client associate position can be based in Italy, Paris or Berlin and is a seasonal, part-time, weekend contract position. Responsibilities include supporting Context docents and clients globally on Saturdays and Sundays during the high season via Context’s 24-hour customer service number. Duties include 1st tier customer service by phone and email. The position reports to the client services managers.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or coursework in the liberal arts.
  • A minimum of 2 years office experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years demonstrated front-line customer service experience.
  • Work experience in the cultural sector is an asset.
  • A love of travel and talking about travel is required.
  • High computer proficiency, including internet and email.
  • Ability to work efficiently and trouble shoot in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • A personal dedication to independent and sustainable travel.
  • A passion for learning about world culture.
  • Broadband/DSL internet connection, personal computer, and smartphone with international calling capabilities.


 

Weekend Client Associate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support of docents and clients during the weekend:

1.  First-tier customer service: Answering time sensitive phone calls and emails that come in through Context’s 24-hour emergency customer service number and email address, assisting clients with bookings through Context's 800 number and answering basic tour inquiries by email.

2.  Assist with immediate needs such as re-sending confirmation emails to clients, alerting docents of late client arrivals, and processing last minute cancellations

3. Facilitating communication between clients and docents in cases of lost clients


 

Weekend Schedule Requirements:

  • 6-12 hours per weekend of home office time
  • 24-hour availability outside home office hours to answer occasional calls relating to aforementioned last minute client and docent needs
  • Total weekend work typically ranging between 6 and 12 hours of client and docent interaction, depending on walking seminar schedule

 

Contract start date: October 3, 2015

Contract end date: March 27, 2016
